CHA-CHING!!
I feel like I hit the jackpot Wednesday night. While helping at my church's yard sale, a flat screen/ THIN thin thin computer monitor came in. Whoo Hoo! I have been coveting one for the last two years. I wisely chose not to purchase one. There was nothing wrong with the monitor that came with my current computor.
I simply could not justify spending money on one I wanted. Notice I am aware I WANTED this monitor. I did not NEED it. It definitely would have helped to have one that takes up less space but it wasn't a make or break item. By waiting and not convincing myself that I just had to have it, I saved at least $50 if I bought it at today's prices. I saved over $100 by not buying it at the price when I decided I wanted one initially. You can bet I did the "Happy Dance." I also entertained my friends while we worked on the upcoming yardsale. They were happy for me.
After typing this up, I noticed that by keeping my wants and needs in check I take great pleasure in the smaller things. I have been excited about the monitor for two days now.
Of course their is a small catch. On top of the $5 for the monitor, I need the power cord. I did not realize that it was missing. :( I will be looking for the cord next time we work on the yardsale. If that fails I will have to purchase one. The cost has been estimated at $10. I am hoping it is not more. Since my current monitor works fine, I will continue to use that one. After I pay off a few things, I will purchase the cord if I have not found a lower cost one.

A few additional notes:
I am curently filling two baskets for my sister's gifts. I picked up the baskets for less than $1 at the church yardsale. They are in mint condition.
My youngest sister's basket is complete. My sister is a scrapbooker. She has been wanting an embosser. I was able to add to her gift. There was a almost new in the box embosser and supplies for $5. She is going to squeal with delight. She has currently been learning to truly save money. She has put off buying an embosser when previously she would have run out and bought one. I also purchased scrapbooking supplies at pennies on the dollar during the year. She is REALLY big into wrapping gifts. She takes great pains and expense to make gifts gorgeous. When one of my neighbors moved she gave me a whole lot of expensive bows. They were new and still in their packages. I added those to her gift basket. There are several more items I received for free or very little and she has an incredible gift and I have less than $15 invested. Next year I will do better.
My older sister's gift is almost complete. She is also a scrapbooker. I have been purchasing scrapbooking supplies for her at pennies on the dollar. I picked up more stamps for her for .25 each when they are normally $6-$15 each, stamp pads and cleaners for .25 each also. Along with a few other free and low cost items her gift has only run $10 so far.
My oldest sister's gift is complete as soon as the last free $25 gift certificate arrives. I ordered it from Mypoints this week! I never spend money at mypoints and I have earned two $25 gift certificates so far this year. I will do better there next year.
My dad's Christmas gift is still up in the air at this point. I do have three HD iron ons. I bought them at the church yardsale. They were in a bag and brand new. These iron on patches are very expensive. I researched sale prices and deals for them. A conservative estimate has their value at $35. I paid $1. Not sure what I will do with this, but the items don't take up much room and will definately be used as my father is a HUGE HD enthusiast.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I stopped by the bread store. They had wheat bread 2/$1. I find great deals at the bread store. I recommend it to everyone. :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another important thing I want to address is giving. I receive a lot from helping with my church's yard sale. I spend time with a great group of ladies, I get great bargains that not only meet a good deal of my needs but also my wants, and we raise money for a good cause.
Tonight I am rounding up items to GIVE to the effort. More on this endeavor a little later.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Applause Please
I have not used my CC for purchases since March!!
The only item being charged to my CC is AOL each month. I am charged $14.95 and I try for surverys at Opinion place each month. Sometimes my AOL is less than $10 a month. I average paying an effective rate of $12.

A lot of times it's hard to get that "perfect balance" between superb usability and visual appearance. I must say that you've done a excellent job with this.
Additionally, the blog loads extremely quick
